Mozilla (and its variants like Netscape and Firebird) has special folder in which you can store quick links to your favourite sites. You can also make links which take you straight to search results pages and other handy sites. Some examples are below.
To use these tools, you can simply click on them within Mozilla, or drag and drop them onto your personal toolbar folder. You can check that your toolbar is active by going to view => show/hide => personal toolbar.
If you interested in creating your own, the links are just some pretty simple javascript functions. I made a quick and dirty toolbar button generator which might help.
*Tip*: Highlight a word on a web page then click your new toolbar button to autosearch.
